DL 100 OUI

250 Meter langer Sendemast fertig gestellt.

U.S.A.

Funkamateure des Old Baney

Northwest of the town of Neustadt am Ruebenberge (near Hannover), a more
than 250-meter radio mast was in the bog near the village of Eilvese
after two years of construction completed in 1913. The transmitter
Eilvese was regarded worldwide as the highest building in Germany and
the largest transmission tower.

On 10.14.1913 the first transatlantic radio communications between
Germany and America took place between the nickname "OUI", with the
transmitter Eilvese and "WSC", the sister station in Tuckerton, New
Jersey
The official inauguration of the station Eilvese found only in January
1914 by Kaiser Wilhelm II in lieu of a greeting telegram to President
Wilson sent. Sparked was placed on long wave, the 14,000-meter band.

Over the years, the antenna system of the transmitter Eilvese was
expanded. Around the 250-meter masts, which was electrically divided
into two equal lengths, each of six 135-meter masts were erected
carrying a shield antenna with a diameter of about one kilometer. Later,
a gigantic receiving station on the Hagen Mountain, 6 km away was
installed so that no longer had to be received by the transmitter.

On the weekend, 19./20.10.2013, the local associations H61, Neustadt am
Ruebenberge, and H35, Steinhude, the completion and recording the first
transatlantic radio communications between Eilvese and Tuckerton in a
radio activity with the special call DL 100 OUI and the special DOK OUI
remember. The activity will take place near the historic transmitter
site in Neustadt am Ruebenberge.

This is planned as 100 years ago to contact the former site of the
sister stations in Tuckerton. Amateur Radio Club of Old Baney be heard
with the callsign on the callsign W2WSC DL100OUI and contact.
