• Is it really Morse code, or Vail code?

Alfred Vail produced the first telegraphh key.
On the other end of "What Hath God Wrought?" was Alfred Vail to respond.
Vail made a deal with Samuel Morse to produce the necessary devices to demostrate the new technology.
It is beleived that Vail took Morse's artistic ideas and made them into practical and manufacturable system.
Interestingly, the U.S. Army Signal Corps was first located at Camp Alfred Vail!
