• interesting 70cm ham radio voice transmissions in Los Angeles

In November 2013, I captured these interesting signals in the 70CM ham band near 446MHZ in Reseda California using a NCG Comet discone antenna and RTL-SDR USB device with SDR#.

I have been away from ham radio for a while but the signals appear to be narrow band FM voice transmissions following some progressive predetermined frequency pattern possibly initiated within two transmitted bursts detected at a lower frequency. I can chase them with my VFO and hear brief voices. I am guessing these guys are serious hardware and software hackers because I have never seen anything commercially available that uses this technique. Maybe I was away too long?

I will be capturing the baseband signals for offline processing and reverse engineering.

I hope to hack this technique and "say hello" to them.
