• Ten-Tec T1056 160m AM Mode Reception Demonstration

Added at 2012-03-29 15:56:22

Normally, Direct Conversion (DC) receivers are not intended for Amplitude Modulation (AM) mode reception because the slightest frequency shift or instability of the receiver's Local Oscillator (LO) will cause an audio beat note when mixed with the received signal. To hear AM signals with a DC receiver, the LO must be extremely stable. This video example shows how stable the Ten-Tec T1056 is when built for the 160m band (1.8-2.0 MHz) and mounted securely in an enclosure. Enclosure is Ten-Tec 1000C.
