After bashing on the UV-3R, I hope this glorifying review of the UV-5R will win your hearts back. The UV-5R still costs under $50 (at 409shop.com) and brings all the features to the table. Even a light and FM BC radio, haha. Biggest pet peeves: The RPSMA antenna connector (like the wouxuns) and the almost too-easy-to-press PTT button, and the radio is only chargeable in the included stand.
