• New antennas for my SDR setup- Mailbag Monday

2 new antennas have arrived for my shack. They will mainly be used connected to the USB- Software Defined Radio Dongles. One is a QFH for NOAA satellite imagery decoding and the other is a Comet discone that I hope should be the best option for almost all the ranges I tune into with the RTL-SDR. It is marketed as RX: 25-1300MHz- should work great!

The Comet antenna is marketed mainly to scanner use- but I believe it should be nearly perfect for the software defined radios. Should reduce the need for multiple antennas.

The Discone is a Comet DS150s

The QFH:

At the end you can see the reception for a NOAA Satellite pass but I didn't get time to set up WXtoImg before the pass. The signal is amazing. Full tutorial video coming up :)

Cheers
