Here is a demonstration of the Hallicrafters SX-100 owned by the Virginia Tech Amateur Radio Association K4KDJ. This radio was donated in memory of Voyle R. Dawson, President and Founding Member of VTARA, Class of 1937.

The SX-100 is a general coverage (~500 kHz - 34 MHz) receiver manufactured between 1955 and 1962.
