Biography
My name is Graham Galea and I live in Cairns, North Queensland, Australia.
I got my Amateur Radio Foundation Proficiency license in 2010 in Melbourne, Australia. Hence the VK3 in my callsign. I enjoy Amateur radio as it allows me to learn more about RF with a community of like-minded people. I had the good fortune to get a job in Commercial Radio while studying for an Engineering Degree. Working in Commercial radio I was blown away by the skill and knowledge of the Broadcast Engineers I worked alongside. As the BOCP is no longer taught, the AOCP is a perfect alternative to bridge the RF/Broadcast Engineering gap.
My career did take me on a different path for many years and it is only since moving to Cairns I have been able to get back involved in radio and an opportunity to rekindle my passion for learning about RF. I have started studying for the Standard license and intend to continue until I have my advanced. I am fortunate to have a family member vk4pwg who has a Radio Engineering background also living in Cairns plus a good community of people both in amateur radio and commercial radio around me.
Kind Regards
Graham Galea
