Biography

For 10 meter beacon info, scroll down page.

If your reading this page, chances are I just finished talking to you on the air. I have an average station which consists of an Icom IC-756 pro 2, an old Amp Supply amplifier running a single 3-500Z that puts out about 800 watts. For my antenna, I'm using either a W9INN designed 160,80,and 40 meter wire dipole at a height of 40 feet. Or a Mosley TA-33 tri-band antenna mounted on a 40 foot tower for the other bands. The Mosley was given to me by a good friend, Mike WB8MMR and its been up 4 years now and I have now earned my DXCC award with it. Currently, I have talked to 252 countries with 244 of those contacts confirmed. Thanks Mike! Lately I have been spending some time operating on 10 meters with the recent band openings. So far I've contacted 169 countries on 10. I also acheived WAS (Worked All States) by communicating all 50 states on the 160 meter band. I do try to keep a listen on our local repeater (www.swchrc.com) which is on 145.23 mHz. Or you can connect to it thru the internet at www.Ecohlink.org using node 45217.

If you are hearing my 10 meter beacon, its been on the air since June 14, 2005. I did have a few bugs to work out at first but its now operating 24 hours a day. Currently the frequency is 28.207 MHz and I would like to hear from those who can receive it. The transmitter is running 5 watts into a 10 meter Ringo which is mounted on the roof of my house which is located just south of Columbus, Ohio. Scud Missile Co-ordinates: 39.87301 North -83.06962 West. Grid Square EM89LU

If you should hear my weak signal, I would appreciate receiving your reception report or comments. You may either email me or send your QSL in the mail and I will respond with my own spiffy QSL. I would like to receive actual QSLs from those reporting so I can hang them on the wall near the transmitter.

Thanks and hope to talk to you on the air again very soon!
