Biography
Hi!
Greetings from Redondo Beach, California. My QTH is about one mile (1.6 km) from the ocean, approximately 15 miles (24 km) southwest of downtown Los Angeles.
Originally licensed in 1980 as KA6NAL – 40+ years as an amateur radio operator.
I enjoy all aspects of amateur radio: ragchewing, DX, contesting, etc. and try to participate in all of them. Same for modes: CW, SSB, FT8, FT4, RTTY, Packet, WSPR, and whatever else I can make my radio do. I operate as many bands as I can, which currently includes everything from 40m to 6m. I'm looking into adding satellite.
I have operated two DXpeditions to America Samoa in 1991 (KA6NAL/NH8) and 1993 (KA6NAL/AH8) and also operated from PJ2 with K6RO in 2002. The first KH8 trip included the first amateur satellite activation of AS via OSCAR-13.
Please QSL direct if you want a paper QSL (no SASE/IRC required, though SASE appreciated), or via LoTW and eQSL. Now updating online logs almost daily.
Always looking forward to the next QSO...
Tnx and 73,
Ron
