Biography

I have been issued with a Innovation and Trial licence from Ofcom to conduct research on 40MHz (8m) valid for 12 months and started 1st April 2022.

This is not an Amateur Radio Special Research Permit nor is it connected to amateur radio although I welcome reports from radio amateurs and I can be contacted directly via email at paul@ukdx.org.uk

My licence allows me to use narrow band modes on 40.680 and 40.663MHz plus SSB anywhere between 40-42MHz. Should your local administration allow it I will be pleased to schedule tests for both cross band and single band contacts involving 8M.

My first day on air using this licence and I have been experimenting on FT8, it seems JTDX didn't like my first choice of callsign with the /8 suffix, no outgoing locator means no reporting on PSKreporter so I'm now using G9PUV.

I have some more station information on my main page @ G7PUV.

Equipment

Icom IC-706 MK2G with additional external filtering for 40MHz.
30W PEP
XGGComms Digimode-3 interface.
W4KMA Log Periodic 15m AGL.
