Biography
I have been issued with a Innovation and Trial licence from Ofcom to conduct research on 40MHz (8m) valid for 12 months and started 1st April 2022.
This is not an Amateur Radio Special Research Permit nor is it connected to amateur radio although I welcome reports from radio amateurs and I can be contacted directly via email at paul@ukdx.org.uk
My licence allows me to use narrow band modes on 40.680 and 40.663MHz plus SSB anywhere between 40-42MHz. Should your local administration allow it I will be pleased to schedule tests for both cross band and single band contacts involving 8M.

Occasionally on air on VHF/UHF but rarely on HF these days preferring to monitor the higher bands from 18MHz up. You'll find my FT8 reception on PSKreporter and low VHF reception on youtube, just search for aceblaggard.
I actively monitor both 40 and 60MHz and was the first G to hear S5 on 40.680MHz, the 8M band.
I still use an Icom 8500 receiver but most of my listening is via SDR, a mix of arsespy, SDRPlay RSP1A and RTL dongle. They are all fed from a Log Periodic that I've recently modified to cover down to 18MHz. A pre filtered LNA4ALL amplifier distributes the signal via an 8 way satellite type splitter.
Equipment
Icom R8500, 2xRSP1A, Arsspy, RTLSDR.
LNA4ALL, SV1AFN & CCW Multicouplers.
W4KMA 18-100MHz custom Log Periodic.
Wellbrook ALA1530AL1 active HF loop.
