Biography

Radioaficionado desde octubre de 1981, cuando conseguí mi primer indicativo EC5AKG. En 1982 obtuve mi segundo distintivo de llamada EA5DFG y en 1988 el tercero y actual: EA5BH. Entre 1981 y 1993 estuve activo en las bandas de HF en fonía y telegrafía, con pequeñas incursiones en los incipientes modos digitales. Tras un largo paréntesis, retomé mi actividad en agosto de 2020. Actualmente estoy activo de nuevo en HF, en fonía y modos digitales (FT8). Tras unos meses de «duro» entrenamiento, también vuelvo a estar activo en telegrafía (QRS). Entre 2000 y 2012 fui instructor de radiocomunicaciones marítimas (Sistema Mundial de Socorro y Seguridad Marítimos, SMSSM) en el Instituto Politécnico Marítimo Pequero del Mediterráneo.

I got into ham radio in October 1981 as EC5AKG. In 1982 I got my second callsign EA5DFG and in 1988 the third and current one: EA5BH. Between 1981 and 1993 I was active in the HF bands, in SSB and CW, with small forays into the incipient digital modes. After a long hiatus, I resumed my activity in August 2020. Currently, I am active again in HF, in SSB and digital modes (FT8). After a few months of "hard" training, I am also active again in CW (QRS). Between 2000 and 2012 I was an instructor of marine radio communications (Global Maritime Distress Safety System, GMDSS) at the Instituto Politécnico Marítimo Pesquero del Mediterráneo.
