Biography

Welcome to my Page

Please note the QSL policies below in the text!

Since 1993 I am licensed amateur. A long time ago I was not working on the amateur bands. In 1993 I got my first callsign DG3ABT, the former class "C" in Germany with privileges only on VHF and UHF Bands. Later than I pass the "slow" CW-Exam and get my former class "A" License with DH4AAM, wich ends up with the "faster" CW-Exam and the former class "B" License with full privileges on the bands. My former Callsign was DL6ABR. Since 2004 I was inactive and i sell all my amateur equipment.

Since July 2023 I have changed my callsign to DJ1JR as I reactivate my radio license.

In September 2023 I have passed the exam for the american technician class license in a remote session in Germany. In October 2023 I upgraded to the General Class License. At last in January 2024 I have earned my Extra Class license at a walk in exam in Orlando, Florida. My US callsign is vanity K1JHR, my previous callsign was KD9YZK. Whenever possible I work also with K1JHR. The last time was at vacation in Orlando. At my next vacation in USA I will be QRV on shortwave also.

In December 2024 my wife Andrea earned also her amateur license. First with the Novice license with call DN9AR. She works on the german class "E" license.

SWL Cards are welcome - ensure that the information on the card is complete! Incomplete SWL Reports will be discarded!

QSL policy:

The default way - every card, that reaches me via the bureau is answered the same way.

The fast way - direct cards will be answered also direct.
Required is a SASE (German stations) or SAE with 2US$ (stations outside Germany) - IRC are not accepted! Direct QSL without return postage will be answered via the bureau!

The electronic way - every QSO will be uploaded to ARRL's LotW, Clublog and QRZ.com. The other electronic
confirmations (eqsl.cc, hrdlog etc.) are updated most times once a month.

SWL Reports welcome. Condition for QSL is minimum correct time, correct mode, callsign of the worked station and also the reports. Reports without this data will be discarded and not answered! Also FT4 or FT8 SWL reports must contain this data for QSL! Unfortunately most of the eQSL.cc reports from SWL's shows uncomplete data. Please make sure for QSL to report with all the needed data!

For FT8 and FT4 QSO it is important that the QSO is completed with "RR73" and "73". QSOs that are not conducted within a contest must contain the two confirmations in order for me to issue a QSL. QSOs that are not completed correctly will not be confirmed with a QSL. Requests for incorrect QSOs will be rejected.

A confirmation of a QSO is the “crown” to every QSO. I'm also happy about any confirmation.

In principle, I do not pay for an electronic confirmation. I generally upload my confirmations free of charge and expect the same from the QSO partner.

I am happy to donate voluntarily at DXPeditions and special stations as my own discretion!
