Professional Senior Project Manager and Engineer who is always looking for new challenges to keep the interest going, and ham radio fits that bill perfectly. Equipment

I am a Yaesu man - one FT-857D for serious mobile work, and another FT-857D set up in the shack for digital work. Recently acquired a Flex-1500 which opened up the airwaves for me! I'm not allowed to put a beam, so a 83m long wire loop around the perimeter of the property is doing the hard work. Currently trying to tame a 7.6m (25ft) vertical aluminium tube (thought to be from a CB setup) to behave as a permanent, multiband, low SWR antenna for a beacon - a quest that seems like the impossible dream.
