now 75yrs old worked for nz police 21years on Auckland motorways loved it my job was a MSO that means a motorway support officer covering all the motorways our job was to attend any break downs any accidents and provide protection to the scene closing the road or placing cones around the scene always carried a ham hand held with me I used to operate the speed camera that was good as it was from a van then I wold sit in one place for 3 hours talking on hf or 2 mtrs

yaesu 857D all band dual band a great radio most of my work is from the car mobile
I get some funny looks when people see my aerial for hf its a 9 foot high and then a dual band on the other side I still drive but don,t walk without walking sticks so when wife goes shopping I stay in the car and talk around 73,s dave
