Biography
https://wd9nradio.blogspot.com/
I got my ticket at the age of 16 with the call N9LVZ. Working 2m FM for a couple years and had a blast with that. Of course I got the bug to get on HF so I started preparing to upgrade. I got my general license and changed my call to W9DSC. I kept going until I got to extra class and decided to get a 2x1 call and here I am as WD9N.
I enjoy building antennas, usually wire, but have done 2m and 440 beams, even a few 10m beams over the years. The resources to build rigs and amps are about gone, so I play with antennas.
I have been licensed since 7-2-1991 as N9LVZ, and have since upgraded to Extra ('94 I think) and changed to W9DSC 3-20-2002. On January 24, 2012 I received the vanity call WD9N.
I am a firearm enthusiast, hunter, fisherman, and love combining radio with outdoor activities like camping. Check out the wall tent below, for portable operations.
Having done sound reinforcement for many years I like playing with hi fidelity SSB. You can often find me on 3.630 MHz running 8k SSB.
Thanks for stopping by and God bless.
