Mr. Anderson is an experienced professional with 42-plus years in life safety. He has developed training curriculums and materials for the emergency services including firefighting, first responder medical training, and law enforcement. He is an accomplished instructor and instructor-trainer teaching at local, state and national levels in the fields of fire suppression, hazardous materials, law enforcement, life safety education, consequence management and counter-terrorism response for Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS), and first responder medical training. Mr. Anderson's background in law enforcement and as a first responder provides experience in dealing with victims of crime and emergency situations. Mr. Anderson traveled the U.S. in the Emergency Management Division at RPI with the Nunn-Lugar-Domenici Act that created the Domestic Preparedness Program (DPP) providing Consequence Management and Counter-Terrorism Response to the 120 largest cities in the United States, and also with the Defense Programs Division – Center for National Response (CNR) throughout the smaller areas of the U.S. working with First Responders, private sector responders, National Guard Civil Support Teams (CST) – WMD, and municipal governments around the country. Mr. Anderson supported the efforts of organizational responses to WMD incidents through exercise design, development, and facilitation for first responder fire, hazardous materials, EMS, and law enforcement procedures, and crisis and consequence management using the NIMS and ICS systems in the National Response Program (NRP) – predecessor to the National Response Framework (NRF). Mr Anderson worked with members of the exercise team to compile, organize, analyze, and write After-Action Reports (AAR). Mr. Anderson's prior positions allowed the use of all his expertise to be extended throughout the region where he served as the Training Coordinator for Response to Emergencies and Disasters Institute (READI) at George Washington University (GWU) – Ashburn Campus, providing Homeland Defense training programs through the Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP) to the National Capitol Region. Mr. Anderson also possesses 20 years as a Command Officer/Command Level – (Captain to Chief) which was in the position of ICS operational for response to all types of incidents including Mass Casualty, Hazardous Materials, Multiple Alarms Incidents, Aircraft incidents, natural disasters and other catastrophic events.
