Biography

Working 80 meters through 70 cm, all modes. Using Kenwood TS-2000 radio and sometimes use ALS-600 amplifier. Only antenna is a Carolina Windom up about 40 feet. (2017: Flex 6300)

I also operate mobile from my car with a Icom-7000 into Hustler whip with coils for each band. The most fun I have is BICYCLE MOBILE and have a special QSL card for stations I work on my bike. Use a Yaesu FT-857D. Powered by a 12 AH Sealed Lead Acid Battery similar to what is used in power wheel chairs. I can use full 100 watts PEP and it will last for several hours, enough for a nice long bike ride.

I am a member of the BMHA (Bicycle Mobile Hams of America) and will be speaking at a forum in Dayton 2014.

Equipment

2017 Flex 6300 and ALS-600 and Carolina Windom. Work a lot of digital modes, PSK31, JT-65 and JT-9 along with Feld Hell and RTTY. CW also used heavily during contests. Looking for new Countries for DXCC.
