Biography
HAVE BEEN interested in radio and electronics for many years. Since the Late 70's.
I gained my H call, VK3HEH in 1999 then sometime later, upgraded to VK3TZE.
Enjoy building this and that and playing with antennas.
Feb 2019 to End of April 2019 I enjoyed using VK3TZE-DL as I was operating out of Germany.
Using my 817ND on VHF/UHF with the antenna supplied with this radio.
As for HF, SHELL used my long wire antenna with a 9:1 and a QRP battery operated tuna.
HAD many QSO'S
ALSO used ecolink which is great when I am unable to use the radio.
Oh, and to add to the fun of operating outside of Australia....
Used computer to handle DSTAR.
The year 2023 was very interesting.....Like after COVID restrictions.
What do we have planned for this year, 2024?
Chat with me on DStar, or HF Bands and let me know what you think I should do radio wise.
Mostly using my centre fed wire antenna for HF.
Camping trips as plannedI just ordered a good 9 person tent which should arrive this week or next at the latest.
After some repairs and mods to SCUD, a 36' FARR Yacht will be working HF while on PORT PHILIP. So keep an ear out for me, looking to add to the LOG while on the Yacht, using the back stay wire antenna. Let us see and record how I am being Received. Thanks
