Biography

Thank you for visiting my page and "WELCOME".

I Have been involved in radio since the early 60's, starting as a SWL, but only for a short time. I then purchased my first Ham Radio being a Yaesu FT-200.
I enjoy Ham Radio plus homebrewing, EG: Dummy loads / Antennas / Towers / Baluns / Feedline Chokes and both building and erecting towers.
Tilt over type towers or Guyed, along with helping others getting in the hobby, including donating both radio's and antennas!.

My hobbies include:
Boating, fishing and 4wdriving and hunting / Clay Target & Range Target shooting along with camping.
Deep sea fishing is my favourite as I have fished lakes and oceans in the South of VK, and both East and West Coasts of Australia.
On the West Coast of Australia we use to catch a lot of WA Dhu Fish (Jewfish Western Australia) these use to average about 20kg each to over 30kg. Last year I purchased a new electric fishing reel. The reel holds 1000mts of 70lb Braided line, boy how times have changed, I wish we had them in WA (Western Australia) for pulling those big Dhu Fish up from the deep.

I have owned many "HF" Radio's from Yaesu FT-200 being my first Transceiver / FT-101B / FT-101E through to the FTDX-400 (x2) and FTDX-560 Yaesu FT-901DM / FT-7 / FT-7B also Kenwood Radio's from TS-520S (Several) / TS-120V / TS-120S (Several)/ TS-180S / TS-830S (Several)of including the Gold Edition Model TS-830M / TS-450SAT / TS850SAT / TS-950SDX / TS-2000 (two)/ TS-480SAT / TS-480HX to name a few.

Amplifiers I have had over the years from a Yaesu FLDX-2000 / Dentron Clipperton "L" / Yaesu FL-2100B / Yaesu FL-2100Z / Swann Amplifier also Homebrew amp's using 572B Cetron Tubes and 813's also Yaesu FL-7000 and Kenwood TL-922. Parts are drying up quickly on all of the above amplifiers, so it was time to up date to an Emtron Amplifier. Two Emtron DX-3SP's along with the DX-1SP. I love the DX-3SP so had to purchase a second.

None of them as good as the Emtron Amplifiers that I now own.

Emtron DX-1SP latest model using a single FU-728F Tetrode.

I also own the Bigger Emtron DX-3SP using a pair (2) FU-728F (4CX1500B's) Tetrodes, boy what a dx buster!. The Emtron Amplifiers are setup so you can interchange the FU-728F with the 4CX1500B Tetrodes. The FU-728F Tetrodes have a higher gain and differences are in the hundreds of watts being the FU-728F near to 1000watts higher in output.

I had Rudi Personally Sign my 2 x Emtron DX-3SP's with his signature. This is a first for Rudi, so I am very pleased to have them with his own Personal Signature.

"Be loud Be Proud Own An Emtron Amplifier" Emtron have always led the way in design, engineering of tube type amplifiers. Other commercial suppliers/manufacturers are still trying to catch up.

I also have both the ES-1 & ES-4 Radio / Antenna Selector from Dan Voican
Connects up to 3 Radio's and Amplifier also connects up to 5 Antennas.

Check the link below.

Dan Voican can be contacted on emtron2@bigpond.com for services on the Emtron range of amplifiers plus for enquiries for the ES-1A and ES-4

Have a look at this link from those that own the DX-3SP and what they think of such a great amplifier.

TET- Emtron HB-35C.

The HB35C utilises the most advanced three-band antenna design developed in recent years.
This phase tuned 5 element TRI-BANDER is neither a trap antenna of standard coil design, nor is it of a linear trap design. All traps have losses and shorten the antenna, consequently reducing the efficiency.

The HB35C is a full size tri-bander, efficiently utilising the DUAL DRIVE HB9CV system with the revolutionary “PHASE TUNED” VK2AOU multi band system.

The combination of these two systems with TET-Emtron’s unique design makes the HB35C a unique antenna with superior performance.

When compared with a standard Triband beam on a 7–8 metre boom, this antenna exhibits superior gain and bandwidth. In addition, the excellent directivity of the HB35C places it ahead of all competitors.

The performance of the HB35C on all bands is considered better compared to that of a full sized wide spaced three element Yagi.

The antenna is manufactured from specially hardened aluminium tubing and supplied with all stainless steel hardware to meet the most rugged environmental conditions.
