Biography

I was first licensed as VK4VLE in late 1981, then upgraded to a "full call" as VK4BMD in early 1982 (relinquishing that call in 1988). Other calls held were VK1BMD (1988), VK2ENG (1988-2008), VK7ENG (1992-94), GØVEY (1994-96), and VK1ENG (2000-2008).

Equipment

Transceivers:
- Yaesu FT-817 with HC-5 mic insert, OBP audio speech compressor & Collins SSB filter on transmit; and BHI noise reduction filter on receive.
- Kenwood TS-480HX (& DX-1d Amplifier for SSB)

Antennas:
- 5-band spiderbeam (20/17/15/12/10m)
- 40m 1/2-wave dipole.
- 80m 1/4 wave sloping wire.
- 160m 1/4 wave sloping wire.
