| Biography My name is Marc VE2CDR, I first became interested in radio and electronics at a very early age about the age of 12 when I bought an old valve receiver at a local flea market, it had a number of shortwave bands, and after stringing out a long-wire aerial to a nearby tree, I spent many happy hours listening to shortwave stations on the dial. As time went by, I was continuing to buy receiver sets, and started taking them apart to figure out how they worked.
Electricity has captivated me since that day. To this day I still find radio to be an awesome medium. I particularly enjoy the so-called "short wave" or High Frequency (HF) bands. Over the years, I have constructed small projects i.e. Ex: Receiver, Morse key devices,Coil Traps,Antennas tuners etc. I enjoy repairing radios and test/workbench equipment.
I’ve always operated with Kenwood and Icom equipment. My first transceiver was a Kenwood TS-820S with G5RV in inverted vee configuration, 2nd was an IC- 735 with Inverted vee and my existing station is a Yaesu FT-920 and Kenwood TS-940S with MULTIMAX 100. I will be installing a HF Vertical Dipole within the next few months.
I hold a Extra Class License and have been a ham since April, 1999. Hope to see you on the bands. Good DX!
73, Marc VE2CDR
