Biography

Born 1940, May 9, in Korpilombolo, a small village 20 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Started in March 1960 as SM2BJT with QTH Korpilombolo with a 4W crystal tx and a home made G5RV-antenna.The tx was built by my brother, SM2COP (now SM5COP), Rune. Best DX from that QTH for me was VE8TQ, Foxe Basin, who replied to a CQ in January 1961. In 1960 I worked a lot from the military station SL2AD in Boden in northern Sweden. QRT from 1964 to 2006, when I restarted as a ham from Uppsala, a university town north of Stockholm, as SM5BJT. I work mostly on CW, more seldom on SSB. Active in several contests.
I am also active – mostly during summertime - as SM2BJT from my vacational QTH in Seskaroe, an island in the northernmost part of the Gulf of Bothnia, IOTA: EU-139. Usually I take part in the IOTA Contest. The equipment used there is a Yaesu FT-890 and a home made G5RV-antenna.
