Biography

Ahoj!/Ciao!/Hej!/Hello!/Hiya!/¡Hola!/もしもし = Moshimoshi!/Oi!/Salut!/Servus/Zdravo!

I really appreciate your time spent, visiting my page!!

MORSE CODE FOREVER!

I am licensed since March of 1964, then as SM2BYD. From January 1969, as SM0BYD.
My main interests within the frame of our beloved Ham Radio hobby, is morse code, a nice rag chew or as often is the case, chasing DX on the HF bands.

Due to a very common problem nowadays, not being fortunate enough with an antenna permit at home, I am still a very happy guy, having the opportunity to operate remotely, from a friend´s site near Stockholm, with the EXCELLENT Remoterig RRC-1258 MkII (SM2O) concept. I have really had more than GREAT FUN, since my first day of the remotely controlled operation on May 30 2011.

If not at home, working remotely, I am mostly QRV from SK5CG (during 2019, with our
50 years anniversary activity with our special callsign SF50CG, then a unique PFX as
it had not been QRV since 2008!, QRV between Jan 1 and Dec 31 2019, with a total of 7156 QSOs! THANKS a MILLION to all, that have us in the logs! As of February 7, The remaining 4400 QSLs for QSOs between May 30 and december 31 2019, were also printed
by friend Tony, LZ1JZ and then distrbuted via the BFRA/LZ QSL Bureau, with the assistance of Tony LZ1JZ! THANKS A MILLION to you, as well, dear Tony!
https://www.qrz.com/lookup/sf50cg or again, from January 1 2020, at; https://www.qrz.com/lookup/sk5cg

Consequently - SM0BYD is again quite active...and I sincerely hope that we´ll soon (again) hook up on the HF bands! In my case, most likely on CW!

Beside Ham Radio, my main interests are: MOVIES = classics, Film-Noir, the silent era, musicals, westerns, DOCUMENTARIES and what not; MUSIC = JAZZ and the so called classical music; ART - including my own sketching; PHOTOIGRAPHY (my homepage (photos) has been temporarily inactivated.)....and that I guess, rounds it up.

SEIZE THE DAY!
161 * 55/73/88
and BE SAFE!

yours truly
Hans SM0BYD

Now - as every day and always:
Have yourself a GOOD one!!!

Before you leave, a few words and/or quotes to think about:

The most important point of all:
To live life to its fullest,
enjoying every minute of it
and sharing with loved ones and friends
everything, good or bad.

A smile not only broadens your face,
it will make others happy!

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal."
- From an irish headstone.

A day without laughter, is a day lost!

Don´t Cry because it´s over but,
smile, because it happened!

If the world were perfect,
It wouldn´t be.

A Woman is like a tea bag,
you never know how strong she is,
until she gets into hot water!

Take care and STAY HEALTHY!

CARPE DIEM!
SEIZE THE DAY!
PLUK DE DAG!
GENIESSE DEN TAG!
VIVI IL GIORNO!
UHVATI DAN!
IMA NI IKIRU!

"There's enough ugliness in the world.
I'm interested in beauty"
- Tadd Dameron -

Irish proverbs:

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.

May your purse always hold a coin or two.

May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
