Biography

The radio station is operated on board of the sailing vessel sy-Gabber. sy-Gabber is Dutch desing by Aad de Lange with the name "Breewijd 31". Main characteristics: length 9.5m, beam 3.1m, draught 1.45m, 8ton displacement, cutter rig, semi long keel, S-curved and steel construction. Gabber was build in 1982 and traveled from The Netherlands to New Zeeland (1984) passing Panama canal. In 2001 the first owners completed the circumnavigation, rounding Cape of Good Hope.
