Biography
I got my licence in 1947 so I think I can call me an old oldtimer.
From 1953 to 1955 I was a radiotelegrapher and meteorologic observer in weatherstation Danmarkshavn, North East Greenland. I had the call OX3NB then.
The weatherstation had the call OXQ and sent its weather information on 5274 KHz.
I am sometimes QRV on this frequency with my second call OZ7OXQ on cw.
Today I am mostly using cw on the HF-bands: 1.8-3.5-5-7-10.1-14-18-21-24-28MHz.
However I am also QRV on 50-70-144-435MHZ,mostly FM.
Languages used in QSO's: Danish, English, German, French and Russian.
Each wednesday morning I have QSO on SSB with old friends on 3.6175 MHz.
Author of "The Nostalgic Corner" in EDR's monthly magazine "OZ".
Equipment
On the HF-bands I am using most often an IC-736 most often driving a Racal TA99A,and I can chose a power between 5 watt and 1 Kw.
Besides I have a collection of military stations from WWII and the cold war, which I regularly put to life on the bands. Ex.: Racal RA 17. R390A/URR, Kw.E.a, Torn. Fu. b1., Lo40K39, Hungarian R-130-M,Norwegian MA 444, etc. etc.
Key's used: Bencher and M.P.Petersen,Danish State-telegraph,Leif Bøtter manipulator, Juncker.
Antennas: 45 meter LW with tuner in the far edge of my garden ATS-2 (AN/URA-27 and 34). About 35 meter burried cables. 1,8 MHz-28 MHz.
For 10,1 MHz to 24 MHz continuously without tuning a self-constructed biconical on a wersatower. For 50 MHz a 5/8 vertical. For 70 MHz a groundplane. For 144 to 435 MHz a
discone.
