Biography

I’m 56 years old. Birthdays on April 2nd. N8XLQ has been my call sign since 1992 I think. I live at 821 Seneca Ave. Huron, Ohio 44839

Divorced, 3 boys, two are still alive. Disabled/Retired, I play bass guitar and provide support vocals when needed Professionally. Been playing pro since 1980. I own and operate and medium sized Soundcraft/Electro Voice, Shure PA System. I run my own sound for the little band and someone else does the sound for my big band.

Getting my Harley fixed up this spring! 2000 Fat Boy. Camping, fishing, sailing, flying in Airplanes with wings. Not helicopters. Etc.

Equipment

I’m using Yaesu and Baofeng radios for the hobby. - an FT450D, FT2980, FT101~E, & another YAESU FT101~E. Baofeng UV-5XP, two of them. The Desk Mic’s are Astatic D104’s. Great audio reports on all the radios! I love tube sound. My Pro bass amps are all tube or tube/solid state.

The antenna are- Tram 1480 2m 70 cm ground plane 22 feet up to the tip. It’s going on to a tower this spring. Comet CHA 250B Vertical 80-6m ten feet at the base off the ground. Two Wilson 5000 mobiles, 2m Home Brew 6 Element Quad- vertical side. Picked a new Ultimax- 100 80-6m END FEED ANTENNA 66 feet long. That’s shipping to me still. My first End Feed. Should be fun!
