Ham since 1963, first call-Novice WN7FDF-Quickly General Class-Call WA7FDF.After being in USAF SAC Base March AFB, Riverside California 33rd CoMmunIcation Squadron During The Windup of Vietnam War,I Was Usually Under The Highly Detailed SAC B-52 20 KW Transceivers, and Advanced Cryptography Equipment it Kept Me Very Busy Making Certain All Equipment Was Contracting and Locating All of Our Nuclear, And Conventional B-52's, and Including AF1 for POTUS From 1973-75, When President Nixon Started The Ramp-Down of Our War Activity In The Asian Arena. Many of Us Top Secret Clearance Technicians Were Then Early Outed From Duty, And Given Decisions on Whether to Stay on In The USAF, our Leave The Conventional Military and Go Out Into Civilians Working In Technology Companies That Were Starting Up NASA's First Space Shuttle Launch and High Technology Data Reception Equipment.I. Left The Air Force, With An Honorable Discharge, and Records of Commander Honors During My Start As I Was A Self Paced Study In All My Areas of Expertise, and Typically Was Student Teacher Assistant In My Schools Having Finished Them Already in Unusual Record Times.That Kind of Caused Them To Originally Not Have My Positions Already Set, Because Schooling Was Supposed to Be 3-6no, And I Aced Them Out in 1.5 Weeks.Teaching Was Fun, as I Had Already Experienced That in Both My Jr. High and High School Electronics and Science Classes. I Had Already Taken The 1st Class Radiotelephone License Class at Age Eighteen, and Had Scored Exceptionally High in That. I Had That 1st Class Commercial Ticket, Plus my General Class Ham License Before 1970, Which Wad My Graduation Year From High School.I Had Got My 1st Class FCC License Right After Turning 18, Which Was The Required Age For That Ticket. My First Job Out Of The Air Force Was With ELDEC Communications in Everett,WASHINGTON USA, In A Sub-Group Working On Space Shuttle Hardware, Non-Flight Equipment, Used For High Tech Data Receivable Techniques For Top Secret Equipment.That Started My Whole Chain of Working in Mid-Sized, Too Mostly Startup Companies.Second Position Was With The Start Of Ultrasound Eq.At Advanced Technology Labs-ATL Ultrasound in 1977-9 in Bellevue WA, Where I Was Lead Tech/Mfg.Engineer Being #51 Employee in The Company, Which Now Of Course is Phillips Ultrasound CO.,A Very Well Known and Large Co.In Bothell WA. During My First Year I, and Others Pushing There Way Up In The Company Basically Lived There Day and Night During Its First Year.In My Position, During Daytime in Year One,I Hired Hundreds Of Tech's And Other Essential Technical Employees, And After A Slight Dinner, Then Went To Work Testing,Mfg., And QA'ing The Massive Amounts Of Eq.We Were Flowing Out Of ATL.Yr #1 We Went From 51, My Employee#, To 300 Employees, Expanding Space Rapidly.Fortunately I Was Single, And Married Right After Leaving ATL When Almost All Of The First Technologists Started another Ultrasound CO.In Redmond, Where I Moved.ATL Had Been Changed in 1978-9, With Some Typical High Profile Company Change Artists, And I Enjoyed The Startups of Companies So Radically That I Spent The Rest Of My Full Time Work in Startup Co.'s, Mostly In The WA Area, However Had Many Stints During My Years in Silicon Valley,CA, and Doing Overseas Work in Asia's Technology Areas in Japan, Taiwan, Going Kong, Mainland China(Guanzhou Areas), Singapore, and Thailand's Electronic Surface Mount Technology Mfg.Areas.Too Many Co.'s To Talk About Now, Unless We Had An Eyeball QSO To Go Thru All The Wonderful, and The Strange Activities Ending Up Flying Back and Forth Too Many Times To Count, And Staying Weeks, To A Month at A Time In Some Of The Most Beautiful Areas, With The Most Compassionate Of People I've Ever Friended.Ham Radio Puttered Out For Just a Few Years, Then I Re-Upped Getting My Extra Ticket, And Yes My Novelty of High Speed CW Operation, Acceding Anyone's Daily Grind in The Testing Areas By Copying Every Single Character Perfectly in My Extra Test Of 5 Min.Copy At The Slow Rate, To Me Of 20WPM.My Top Was Approx.55-60WPM At The Time, And Remember So Happy Rag-Chewing With Mr.Natasha Nose in Japan, At Those Rates.I Do Believe At That Time, Around 1989-90, When My Extra Call Was N7PJM, Avid Contest Addict,Mr Nose(so), Was The Fastest Vs Operator In The World At That Time, And Could Go By Me With A Couple Other Chaos After 60-65WPM, Where I Faded Out, And They Coded Their Way Off Grid Above 70WPM.Now There's An Entirely Different Sport There Now,A RadioSport, With Different Ratings Than We Used in The 90's.
