Biography

I was originally licensed during 1978 as a novice. I worked CW only with my Heathkit receiver and transmitter I built. I will never forget my first CW QSO much as I will never forget my first solo in a Cessna. I eventually worked my way to an Extra Class License and have confirmed over 145 countries and took a long break from the hobby

After building a new station in Houston, I have moved to Alamogordo NM and have 5 acres, no HOA. Yea! I installed a 70 foot Heights Tower and a SteppIR 3 element Yagi, the DB18.

My equipment includes an IC7610, an ACOM 2100 AMP, and a SteppIR Vertical and DB18 3-element yagi, 6-40 meters. I can operate most all modes using Ham Radio Deluxe, DM780, N1MM, MMTTY with the Win4IcomSuite front end.

Other hobbies include flying and astronomy. I am licensed as a commercial multi-engine instrument rated pilot, flight instructor and now enjoy casual flying.
