Biography
After a few months of absence I'm back again to try to make contacts all over the world. Mainly on 40m and 20m.
Original I'm a SWL and still I enjoy listening to SW. Not only to the HAMbands but also to other interesting signals! If you use the right equipment there is plenty to here!
Born 7-1-1957 in the Netherlands
Living in Scotland since 2006
SWL since 1972
Licensed july 2009.
License type: Foundation.
Equipment
RX: JRC NRD 515
RX: Palstar R30a
TX: Yaesu FTdx-5000MP
bhi DSP "desktop - Noise Away" speaker
Some DSP audio stuff (JPS NF-60 DSP notch and Realistic DSP 40)
RX Antenna: Wellbrook ALA 1530 Loop receiving antenne.
TX Antenna: offset dipole - 3 bands about 2.5 meter above ground level.
I've worked several stations throughout Europe without much problems. And.....
only with 10 watts! Its nice to talk with some hams who using a KILOWATT and I only with my 10 watts. And they gave me good to fair reports! (its also better for my electricity bill!!)
You ask yourself maybe why a FTdx-5000MP for a Foundation license, well its simple: the receiver of this transceiver is on believably good! I've compared it whit several other rx nd tx and it is the best at the moment you can get!
