Biography

I am one of the team of GB2RS Newsreaders for the Glasgow area.

I am a member of Edinburgh & District Amateur Radio Club whose club callsign is GM4HAM.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

QRV on all HF bands using up to 400 watts from a Kenwood TS-870 and Linear Amp Gemini HF-1K Solid State 1kW HF Linear Amplifier into a 50m doublet antenna matched using an MFJ-962D Roller Inductor Versa Tuner 3.

QRV on 2 Metres using up to 400 watts from a Yaesu FT-736R and Linear Amp Gemini 2-1.4K Solid State 1.4kW VHF Linear Amplifier into 2 stacked 10 element horizontal beams or into 3 spaced and stacked 5/8 vertical radiators.

I operate mobile from my Mitsubishi Shogun 4 on all HF bands and 2m/70cm using a Yaesu FT-100 and a Yaesu FT-8800E. There are two VHF/UHF antennae and one HF vertical antenna, all mounted on two custom modified roof bars.
