Biography

My QTH is Blackburn, Lancashire in IO83SS, a cotton town with 10,000 holes on the southern edge of the Ribble Valley.

I hold a Foundation level amateur radio license.

After experimenting with the good, the bad, and the ugly, budget two-way radios, I have become a fan of Anytone, and thoroughly enjoy experimenting with:

Anytone AT-778UV Dual Band 2M/70cm.
Anytone AT-588 4M/70MHZ

My homemade antennas include the following:

Di Pole 1/4 wave - 144MHZ
Di Pole 1/4 wave - 70MHZ
Ground Plane Antenna 1/4 wave - 433MHZ
End Fed Halfwave Antenna 2M/4M - thanks to G5TM (Tim)

My factory-made antennas:

Diamond X-50N Dual Band Vertical (N-TYPE) (144Mhz/433Mhz).
MPRO-4 Metre 70 MHz
MOONRAKER _ MRQ575 2/70

Areas that interest me are homebrew antennas, Racal Cougar police/military radio, radio sonde/weather balloon, and the following YouTube content:
