Biography

Hi and thanks for looking me up.

I came from the illegal CB world back in the 80s .

I took and monumentally failed the Radio Amateur exam back when I was 16. Since then, I joined the RAF as a fireman! I then travelled the world teaching scuba diving, before settling down as a carrer firefighter. I am currently a Watch Manager with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. I enjoy motorcycling and am a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club.

I came back to radio recently, with the covid lockdown forcing a change in pace.

I'm active on 2m and 70cm locally. I also use D-Star, Fusion and DMR digital modes through a ambre3000 dongle which is an amazing piece of tech ( look it up ). I am also a big fan of Peanut and Echolink.

I like making antennas - so far I've made a 1/4 wave, various flowerpots and repurposed an ancient mag-mount for the car. Next project is a Yagi.....I think!

Due to the a recent spate of scammers please note my current selling equipment status.

I am not currently selling anything. Any adverts from my call sign are fake!
