Biography
Greetings!
The shack and antennas aren't much but I'm always ready for a friendly CW rag chew on 40/80 in the evening or on the higher bands during the day.

Equipment
>>> Primary Equipment (some pictured)
* Ten-Tec 599/AT Eagle with 0.6, 2.4 and 6.0 kHz IF filters - decent performance and priced right.
* Ten-Tec HB1-B (YouKits) - QRP on 20, (30), 40 and 80 using RS 22-507 power supply and 21-130 powered speaker - small, simple and sensitive with quick QSK.
* Icom IC-T70A -144/440 HT - plays great but not used much since since few locals are on these bands.
* Icom IC-R6 - 100 KHz thru 1.3 GHz - as expected, excellent VHF/UHF scanner.
* Sony ICF-SW7600GR - surprising performance for such a tiny, low cost receiver.
* MFJ-941E Versa Tuner II - will tune just about anything except 10 meters.
* Unadilla Trapped 'Vee' up 25 feet on fiberglass pole running 10, 15, 20 and 40 with home brew loading coils in the 40 meter legs to shorten the span - near zero SWR at resonance on all bands.
* W8AMZ shortened, 1/4 wave sloper for 80 meters mounted on same pole - works well considering the 27 foot length and 25 foot height.
* MFJ-495 Keyboard/Keyer with Vibroplex and Bencher paddles - my fist is pretty bad above 25 WPM, so I usually cluck on the KB - unfortunately, my typing and spelling also stink but I still have fun!
* PC running HRD and interfaced to Eagle with Ten-Tec #712 sound card USB adapter and USB-A/B cable for rig control.
That's it - Can't afford and don't need much else - 73 de KY8C
