Biography

If you heard my beacon on 28.2133, I'd really appreciate a message to let me know where it's being heard. You can leave a comment below, or you can send an Email to KD8RKJ(at)GMAILdotCOM. If you'd like a QSL card for the beacon, send me your mailing address and I'll be happy to send you one.

The beacon is a 1976 Midland CB radio that I converted to the 10 meter band. It's running at 2 watts output into a vertical antenna. The controller is an N0XAS PicoKeyer.

Special thanks to Bill, WJ5O for his help getting the beacon on the air. If you have an interest in beacons, Bill is the IARU Region 2 HF Beacon Coordinator. He's also a really nice guy and willing to answer questions if you need information about activating a beacon. His website has loads of information on 10 Meter beacon operation. http://www.qsl.net/wj5o/
