Biography

I have been licensed since 1976. First call was WD8DNG, then got extra class call KM8R. I still use the KM8R call for contests and as a club call.

I use my middle name "Marty" and I will usually ID that way on the air.

I retired in 2011 as a former IT support specialist among a number of careers in my lifetime.

I am approaching Honor Roll with 332 confirmed and a few more cards to submit this spring of 2019.

I work CW, SSB and RTTY on all HF bands. I do not work FT8-"fake radio" as I call it.

My primary rig is IC 7700, backup is my old favorite IC 765. Amps are Dentron MLA 2500 and Henry 3KD Premier. Antennas are Bencher Skyhawk yagi at 65 ft. for 10-20 meters and a dipole for 80-160 at 60 ft. I use a vertical tuned for 40 meters on that band.

Hope to see you on the bands. Good DX es 73

Marty
