Biography

Greetings from Hingham, Massachusetts, 18 miles south of Boston. Founded in 1635 Hingham is named after Hingham, England, a small town in East Anglia. Hingham has a population of 22,000 and is known for its old, historic homes and beautiful location on Hingham Harbor, part oftheAtlantic Ocean.

I've been hamming since June 14,1962, enjoying75 meters rag chews, and 10, 12, and 17 meters. Mostly a SSB ham, but working my way back into CW, copying now at 15WPM, and working toward higher speeds.

My gear is a mix of old and new:Collins 32S1/75S1 (circa 1964),SB-102,Hammarlund HQ 170 and Centrral Eelectronics 10B. New in 2011: An ICOM IC 718. Antennas: G5RV and a shorty all-band windham, both supported by trees in the back yard.

Mobiling: In the pick-up truck:Kenwood TS-50 and the AT 50 tuner with Hustler mast and coils. Car: FT 7900R, 2 meters/440.
