Biography

Almost over 50years ago, I was interested in communicate with unknown person who lived in far from my QTH.
I did not have a Ham license ,so I started CB(0.5W,2ch) when I was 11yrs little boy in 1969.
After a few years later, I started SWL(BC and Ham band) since 1973 and got a HAM license in 1977.

As SWL,I used 9R59DS by Trio(Now Kenwood)with pre selector and RD-5(Short wave receiving antenna by Mosley).
Thanks to my father for buying it for me!
after then, I used R599D(Trio),and FR101SD(Yaesu).It works tremendous!
I was so surprised and excited to hear so many DX stations.(broadcasting stn, amateur ham radio, utility)
As soon as I got a Ham license, I purchased FT101ES,FV101 and 3ele HB9CV,dipole for 15mtrs.
And after some years later, I got FT707S,TS140S,and RJX715 and TA33 antenna.
Sometimes I enjoyed mobile operation on 15mtrs band.

My most active Ham life was the time during living in 3 call area (Osaka-city and Suita-city)
,QRV as JR4BYH/3 (1977~1981 while I was a Doshisha Univ. student).
I enjoyed Ham life almost every day. The Condx was so good for DXing at that time.(cycle21)

Now mainly QRV on 15mtrs CW,PHONE,FT8, but not so active as before.(maybe, because of my age Hi!) Still now having a fun to QSO with DX stations all over the world especially by low power.
I have ever been a member of QRP Amateur Radio Club International.

My QTH is Ibara-City(JCC No.3109),it is located in the south western part of Okayama-pref.
near the border with Hiroshima-pref.
I love this small city where I born. It is about 120km east of Hiroshima city.

My another hobby is listening shortwave broadcasting programs from all over the world.
Now there are only a few English broadcasting stations.
I like to listen to the popular music program from KNLS and RNZ.

Finally I must say thanks millions to OM who made an eyeball QSO for me.
How have you been? Best wishes and really wish to see you again.
I'll never forget your kindness forever.

In 1979, W1CKP,WB1CXK,WB1ABL,W1RED,W1JRA,W5WY/1
In 1986, VK3DQK,VK2NOG,VK1GD.

The countries where I've ever visited are W,VK,ZL,9V,BY,HS,3W.

Well,I hope to see you soon on the band!
Very Best 73's and 88 , FB DX from Toshi.
(please look in the profile of JR4BYH/3 too, Many Thanks!)

Equipment

Rig: YAESU FTDX3000D

Antenna: half wave Dipole, up about 2 or 3mtrs high above the ground.
Very poor antenna situation indeed Hi.

Tuner: MFJ949E
Speaker: Yaesu SP20 and Palstar SP30B, Drake MS-4

Receiver for SWL: Drake SPR4 and Icom IC-R75(UT106,FL257,FL103,CR282),
Sony radio ICF-SW7600GR,
Uniden Scanner UBC125XLT and Comet ab1230h antenna for listening aircraft band.

By the way my favorite receiver is Drake SPR4 ,it sounds so mild and soft lovely tone just like a tube receiver.
It's selectivity is so sharp and it's notch filter is working fine job against QRM or QSB.
Later I put the additional options SCC4 and 5NB to SPR4. They are all doing FB still now.
(I've ever used Palstar R30CC and Lowe HF225 before .
These receiver were great for listening SSB and AM mode)
