Biography

Began ham radio around 1972 With a CB equipment,then on a trip to Colombia obtained my first license with the call sign HK6CGH.Changed call signs in the 80s,when moved to zone 4. Because of this, the call-sign change to HK4CGH and on 2009 changed call sign again to HK4OC.Since 1957 to 2008 live and work in New York city and had the call sign of KF2KFZ. Now retired and enjoin the beautiful weather in Medellin, the city of eternal spring,about 70s degrees all year round. Ham Radio activity was limited to about 6 to 8 weeks a year on vacations time in Medellin and very little in Manhattan, New York,because the condo restrictions.

Equipment

Yaesu FT-980 transceiver and Speaker,Antenna coupler Yaesu FC700 with a Drake W4 watt meter, Heat kit Sb 220 amplifier and a Hy gain TH6 D XX for 10-15 and 20 meters and a 40 meter dipole first set up on 1983 when Y replace the old Ft 101 line ,on 1989 .Add a second line to my shack a Ken wood TS-430S, complete line (Transceiver,antenna tuner power supply,Speaker). Replace the TH6 D XX for smaller Mosley TA 33 and the SB 220 was replace with a SB 200 . By 2014 I bought me a Yaesu FT DX 1200 with a Samlex SEC -M1235 power supply,Daiwa CN 801- .--Yaesu FL7000 an add on 40 meters kit for my Antenna Mosley TA33 ,on a 12 meter tower,mounted on the 2nd floor of the house ,and new version of a 5GRV 6 to 80 meters , both set up to use with any of the above radios .Dell computer running with Windows 7 pro. for digitals .
