The picture shows the late Charles Packe G3OJ at the operating position of his shack in 1947.
As G3XIX I hold this call that was originally issued to an informal club in Felixstowe.
The call was issued after Charles became a silent key permission for its use was given to me by his son Dennis. Charles was a much loved fellow ham and really kindled my interest in amateur radio.
The club no longer meets as most members are now silent keys. The call is kept alive
for sentimental reasons and is activated occasionally.
