Biography

Hi there,

this is Thomas, DO1BA, OM since March 12 2018, but interested in since I was about 14. (So it took about 30 years to get the license LOL)

A personal highlight would be to talk to VA1VAS / VE1VAS (Marconi National Historic Site of Canada). I visited this station in 2008, but not as a OM. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the OM I talked to when I was there. (see also here: https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/lhn-nhs/ns/marconi/activ )

Also the digital modes FT8, FT4 and VarAC are interesting. Occasionally I'm on the way as DO1BA/P doing things like SOTA, COTA, WWFF, GMA, ...

- ICOM 9700 transceiver on 2m and 70cm
- Yaesu FT-891 transceiver for outdoor use on 10m and 15m
- TYT TH-9800 transceiver for outdoor use on 2m and 70cm
- Anytone AT-D868UV for outdoors on 2m and 70cm

Antennas:
- 2m/70cm Groundplane (Diamond X50)
- 6m, 10m, 15m Dipole (10m is very bad right now, I have to adjust it)
