Biography

Hey YL's and OM's

Thanks for looking at my page

My name is Walter, licenced for HAM Radio since 1980. I live in a small village called Greifenstein-Nenderoth with about 430 inhabitants, located 60km north-west of Frankfurt / Main.
Nenderoth is about 350m above sea level.
In 1980 I obtained the amateur radio license with the callsign DL9FAH.
Knowledge of telegraphy, 60 characters per minute (60 bpm), were the prerequisite for being able to participate in radio communications on shortwave worldwide. I was mainly active on the 10, 40 and 80 meter band.
My favorite amateur radio band, however, was the 10 meter band. (28 MHz to 29.7 MHz).
Even with low transmission power, radio connections came around the globe.
The culmination was a radio connection to a research station in the Antarctic.
