Biography
Born in 1959 and collecting experiences with radio and electronics works at age of 11. Licenced since 1975 and still holding the same callsign.
Main interest from the beginning in SW DXing, homebrew RIG and antennas.My first radioswere the borrowed HW-12 and later a SWAN 350 provided to me by my ham elmer Charly, DJ9CL. Mostly operating SSB. Early interests in digital modes RTTY (using a 1955 Siemens T-100 teletyper), later on AMTOR, PACKET RADIO using a Kantronics All Mode.
Actual activities are DXing, VHF/UHF mountain top operation, APRS, mobile competition, digital modes (RTTY/PSK/SSTV) collecting 'Boat Anchor' RIGS (Heath, EICO, Hallicrafters, SWAN) and some German WW2 Radios like E.b (receiver Berta) and 15WS.E.b (transceiver Berta).
Also experimenting, if my free time allows, with Software Defined Radio (SDR).
Actually i purchased and taking care of a 1963 Bundeswehr 4x4 Army Radio Truck type UNIMOG Spezial 404B containing the original military 100W HF radio set: Receiver SIEMENS E311b1b, Transmitter Rohde&Schwarz SK-010 (A1/A3/F1) and a SIEMENS T100Z 50baud teletype machine with a Teletron TG44B Tastgeraet.

Actual RIG's are Elecraft K2, FT-920FM, FT-900AT, FT-897D, FT-857D, FT-817, FL-2100B and ML-2500 Linear Amp. - Ant. 5 Elem. Tribander Beam, GP's and Dipole's for the lower bands.
APRS using KENWOOD HT TH-D72 and D710 at my car (find me as DK8AF-9 or DK8AF-7)and DK8AF-2 my personal weather-station.
Digital Interface KAM Plus; PTC2pro and Soundcard Interfaces.
You see, most of HF RIG is YAESU and was, as I started with a Yaesu FT-101E as my first own paid RIG and a homemade 2 Element Cubical Quad.
