Biography

Electrical engineer who entered the profession because of interest in amateur radio. Former USAF MARS member, Region 1 official and NJ SMD. Enjoys CW and Phone NTS nets, occasional DX and contesting. Prefers CW and digital modes. Former broadcast engineer, GROL with Ship Radar End. Lives in Silicon Valley near Monterey Bay, California & South County Airport (E16). A private pilot, enjoys tennis, music, and outdoor sports. Currently employed in the aerospace industry.

The picture is looking North from just South of Watsonville, CA toward Half Moon Bay at 4000 ft. The Elecraft factory is just to the right of center in the picture near the Watsonville Airport. I was solo at the time, just up for a spin and enjoying the beautiful California coastline. Aircraft that day was a Piper Arrow.

For contest operation, I will often use AA2HJ/6. Same home station location in both cases.

Loved the ARRL Centennial where I achieved WAS with W1AW/P. What a fun time!

Thanks to the VT QSO Party and W1NVT, I completed the ARRL Triple Play with my final SSB QSO with VT. Awarded Certificate 1775 in March 2016.
