Biography

My name is Afkham Azeez and I live in the beautiful island called Sri Lanka, in the village of Bellanvila which is in the suburbs of Colombo. I have been an off roading enthusiast, bird watcher and nature lover for many years. Radio communications during such off roading and nature excursions has been a primary requirement for me, which led me towards getting my General Class Amateur Radio License (callsign 4S6AZE) on the 11th of September 2020 and Advanced Class Amateur Radio License (callsign 4S7AZE) on the 5th of August 2021.

I am an active member of the Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL).

My main interest are mobile VHF & portable operations. I am also active on 40m, 20m, 15m, 10m on SSB and FT8.

I have always loved experimenting with electronics & building things since my childhood. Currently I'm looking at ways to improve mobile (vehicle mounted) radio communications on VHF and UHF.

When I'm not engaging in amateur radio and other recreational activities, I work as a software engineer at WSO2, a leading integration software vendor.
