Biography

Hi,

Thanks for looking me up, I assume we just had a QSO.

For the Square collectors, my WAB details are TQ29 in the London Borough of Barnet. I hold Book Numbers 16791, 16916, 16918, 18515 & 18516.

I'm a computer programmer/telephone engineer by trade. I have an XYL (Epi) and a son (Alasdair). The photograph of me in the shack was taken by my son when he was 5 years old.

My interests are photography, transport (buses, trains and planes), music and birds. I hold a Private Pilots Licence, but I gave up flying when my son was born.

I have a blog called Thoughts From Finchley which sometimes mentions Amateur Radio. I upload many of my photos to Flickr so you can take a look at whatever subject takes your fancy - just search for my callsign!

I support Wingate & Finchley FC in the Ryman League.

I collect QSL cards via Buro and will always respond. SWL reports always welcome and responded to via Buro. I upload contacts to LOTW once a month. No eQSL's please.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

For HF I use a Yaesu FT-2000 with a Heil Proset Plus! headset, working through a 1/2 size G5RV 7m agl or a Sandpiper single band vertical for 80M (it also works on 20M). My first HF rig was a Yaesu FT-840 - I now use it as back up and for occasional operations at GB2DHH where I help out. I have just added an FT-817 and a Buddistick for portable operations. I also have a Sommerkamp FT-902DM that I hope to restore to full working order.

For VHF/UHF I have an Icom IC-E208 and a Standard C5800 which get swapped around from time to time, working through a Diamond X50N Colinear 12m agl for 2m/70cm.

Please Note: -

I have no radio equipment of any type for sale so if you see anything for sale from me Ignore it, It's a scam.
