Biography

Licensed now since 1958 with the original call of ZL2QJ and since 1965 the call of ZL3MA.
Most of the years have had acreage and the passion has been antennas and the low frequencies and the HF bands been active on digital modes from the earliest RTTY machines until the concept of the home computer and a glass screen.

In later years and after retirement moved to the urban area of the city of Christchurch from Geraldine in South Canterbury and the urban lot no longer permits the wonderful towers along with the large arrays. All activity now is exclusive in the virtual world HamSphere which is a move with technology and there able to operate large arrays in a great simulated environment maintenance free. Occasional operating RF from portable sites within N.Z. territories.

The only RF I have kept in latter years lots of nostalgia and memories surpassing all the solid state I had in my twilight of RF.
Computers have never stopped still in this shack, right since the 70's tried keep abreast in the art. They just seem to keep going faster and greater processing power.
