Biography
Hello,
My name is Larry and have been licensed since 1967 when I obtained my Novice ticket, WN7HDZ,in 1967.
I was active on 10 meters, in the 70's, when 10 was really open, with the 10-10 group.(10-10# 13307). By this time, I had upgraded to General class and was using my Father's rig (W7ITG sk).
No longer was I rock-bound, I could slide up and down the band listening for that familiar cq cq cq de...and then 'pounce' and make a contact. What fun!
In 1989, I bought my permanent home, and had also upgraded to Advanced, put up a dipole for 20 meters, 10 meters was now 'dead', and joined the OMISS club (#3573).
I was on SSB on the OMISS net up until 2004 when I was bitten by the PSK-31 bug.
I am now a member of the PODXS 070 club, www.podxs070.com , and enjoy some contesting, and chasing endorsements. If you haven't guessed it yet, I am an avid paper chaser!
Just recently got into PSK/qrp and that is fun!!
Tnx for dropping by, and hope to CU on my waterfall.
73, Larry WA7HDZ
