Repeater information

Biography

Well I love to ride HARLEY,S and Skydive thats my thing other than Amateur Radio. Far as Ham radio I had four 440 repeaters on the air in the Houston/Conroe area. I sold them to the Salt Grass Link System. I enjoy HF was off the air for 11 years just got back on this year 2017. I talk on 3.930 at night and 3.918 in the morning.

Hello Everyone hope all is good

I have been an Amateur Radio Operator since 1978 when I was first licensed at my call was KA5AIR, a novice with the help of the Amateur Radio I learned alot and it helped me in my job. I managed to get my tech then General while working for one of the largest generator company's in the US. A company called Stewart & Stevenson here in Houston Texas

I changed my call to WA5AIR in 1990.

Current rigs are:

Base: I have two base stations one in the house and one in my shop. I have a Kenwoods TS-2000 160m-6m/2 meters and 70 CM with an Ameritron ATR-30 tuner, Ameritron AL-800H Amp and a inverted V at 55 feet. Now in my shop about 150 feet behind the house I have a TEMPO ONE,Kenwood TS-590s 160m-6m &
Drake TR-4 all tubes with a Heathkit 201 amp with another inverted V at about 55 feet.
I have three tower here two towers are 70 foot one by the house and one by the shop. Also have a 30 foot tower with a Hex Beam by the shop. The 70 foot tower by the shop I have a 4 element high gain for HF. The 70 foot tower by the house I have a Teledye T-11 Log Periodic for HF.

Mobile for the camper: Alinco DX-70

I am most active on HF now running digital modes, mainly JT8. Also talk on 5 meters in the evening on 3.930 and in the morning on 3.918.

My favorite band is 75m, but I live in a community with no restrictions on Antennas. I love to ride HARLEY,S and Skydive thats my thing other than Amateur Radio. I have had a lot of medical problems and had a liver transplant two years ago due to liver cancer. All is good now and I'm going to enjoy my HAM Radio.
